NS Novelties Colours Pride Edition 5” Dildo Review

Reviewing A Pride Dildo Before June Ends

Oh? What’s this? Could it be me, scrambling to make a Pride Month post at the last possible minute? You bet it is! The NS Novelties Colours Pride Edtion 5” Dildo is my very first rainbow/Pride themed toy, and it’s fitting that I received it for review in June. The fact that I managed to squeak this review out before June ended is also its own tiny miracle. So, please appreciate my haste to get this completed as you read!

NS Novelties Colours Pride Edition 5” Dildo Specs:

The NS Novelties Colours Pride Edition 5” Dildo is a mouthful of a name for a toy, but a little less of a mouthful than the other dildos in the Colours Pride series. There are three Colours Pride dildos to choose from: a 5”, a 6”, and an 8”. So, if you’re interested in the concept of this item but prefer toys in larger sizes, just know that there are other options!

The 5” measurement doesn’t refer to the whole length of the dildo. Rather, it refers specifically to the insertable portion of the dildo (which is actually 5.3”). From tip to base, the dildo is actually 7”, making it quite a bit more sizable than an actual 5” dildo like the Cocktails Mint Mojito. The Colours Pride dildo has a 1.5” girth, making it a pretty standard size dildo. To me, the 5” label suggests that this dildo is smaller than it actually is, but make no mistake: this is a full size dildo and is more comparable to the Vixen Mustang in terms of overall dimensions as opposed to an actual teeny weenie like the aforementioned Cocktail.

As a note, all dildos in the Colours Pride line are made from silicone and are body-safe.

Visuals:

This is by far the most realistic dildo I’ve ever introduced into my collection. There are a lot of heavily textured raised veins all over its surface, although the rainbow coloration mutes this a little bit. I am still not a fan of realistic dildos, and if this same dildo were cast in a “flesh” color, or honestly any kind of solid color option, I likely would not have chosen it. But, the bold rainbow colors make it so I’m focused less on the true-to-life details and more on just….”haha fun colors.”

The biggest leap of faith I took with this dildo was allowing a dildo with balls into my house. I’m very much NOT a fan of dildos with testicular features, and I typically expect my dildos to be like my cat: neutered, with not a trace of balls anywhere to be found. My impression for years was that the whole purpose of balls on dildos was to create a certain visual aesthetic that I…really was not interested in. But as I’ve grown up, I’ve realized there are more pressing issues than just how a dildo looks. I’ve realized, as they say, that I’ve needed to grab life by the balls and twist—or just grip.

*GRIPS FORCEFULLY*

That’s it. I’ve cracked the code. Balls on dildos provide a really fucking good grip. Like the handle on a sword, having a solid, sturdy chunk of silicone testicle meat to grasp ahold of is really good for me and my notoriously weak wrists. The grip the balls on this dildo provide help me to maintain control and reduce fatigue when I’m using it on my partner, and makes me feel overall more confident and less worried about wearing out. Plus, I didn’t suffer from any hand cramps or other aches and pains I’ve struggled with when holding ball-free dildos in the past. If you need a dildo you can really grasp on to, consider: balls are actually really good for this.

As a disclaimer, I do not recommend grabbing and squeezing real life human testicles (unless, of course, it’s consensual).

NS Novelties Colours Pride Edition 5” Dildo Performance:

As I mentioned above, this dildo’s balls make it super easy to hold onto. Because of this, I had a really positive and successful experience using this toy on my partner. In addition to holding the Colours Pride dildo and thrusting it into my partner, I also gave it a whirl in a strap-on harness.

I grabbed the Sportsheets Em. Ex. Contour Harness and slipped the Colours Pride dildo in with little trouble. I realize now, after the fact, that maybe dildos with balls aren’t meant to go in strap on harnesses? I don’t know. From my experience, I didn’t push the balls all the way through the hole and while it made the harness stick out from my body a little bit, it wasn’t an issue. The Colours Pride dildo remained very sturdy during sex and didn’t slip or flop around.

Speaking of sturdiness vs. squishiness, I would classify the Colours Pride dildo as being more on the squishy side. It’s easy to bend and squeeze, but the silicone doesn’t yield without applying at least some force. When I’m holding it by the balls, it doesn’t flop or curve in any way that’s annoying or a hindrance to sex.

Here, it looks like a Beanie Baby worm.

However, when the dildo is stuck to a surface using its suction cup, it leans. A LOT. If your primary goal was to use this as a suction-cup mounted dildo…good luck, is what I’m saying. The toy falls backward at such a drastic curve that if I were trying to lower myself down and ride it, I think it would be challenging due to having to either angle my hips in a way better left to expert contortionists, or otherwise using a hand to wrangle the dildo at the expense of sacrificing my ability to balance myself well.

The tilt in action.

In regards to how it actually feels, I’m relying solely on my partner’s perspective here due to some ongoing health problems I’m having. While you may ask, “but Izzy, you just posted a review of the Uberrime Splendid last week, and that’s a much girthier dildo, what’s the deal?” Here’s my secret: I wrote the Splendid review several months ago. Fortunately, there are two vaginas in my household, and my partner’s is a lot more reliable than my own.

My partner’s report was that the head feels nice, and that the shape of the curve was also a plus. There was also a ridge running along its surface that provide another layer of internal stimulation. For them, the density and length were just right, and they had no complaints of their cervix being bumped or irritated in any way. In use, they also affirmed that the balls weren’t noticeable—which, for us, is a plus. Their overall rating of it was that they liked it a lot, thought it was particularly well-suited to use in the strap-on harness, and would request it again. Not all of our dildos earn the coveted rank of “yes, use it again,” so it’s an honor for the Colours Pride dildo to be invited into our regular rotation.

Final Thoughts on the NS Novelties Colours Pride Edition 5” Dildo:

The NS Novelties Colours Pride Edition 5” dildo is a highly affordable body-safe dildo, coming in at just $23.85. I would recommend this as a good starter dildo due to its middle-of-the-road dimensions, its affordability, and the fact that it’s made from body-safe silicone. I was surprised by how much I liked the balls, considering I usually don’t like realistic features on dildos, but the extent to which the balls helped me from an accessibility/grip standpoint can’t be overlooked. This dildo is also a good pick because it just feels good—for less than $25, this is a great choice, especially if you want to add some color to your collection.
