Blush Novelties Temptasia Harness Briefs Review

The Blush Novelties Temptasia Harness Briefs are an Affordable and Comfy Strap-On Harness Option

I’ve had my eye on the Temptasia Harness Briefs for a pretty long time. This may come as a surprise, seeing as I already own what’s known as the best of the best when it comes to strap-on harnesses—the SpareParts Joque. However, I really wanted to review the Blush Novelties Temptasia Harness Briefs because they’re one of the most affordable strap-on harnesses currently out there on the market.

The SpareParts Joque typically retails for around $120, and I’ve felt really bad that I haven’t been able to recommend a more budget friendly alternative to friends who have sought strap-on advice. When I asked Betty’s Toy Box if I could review the Temptasia Harness Briefs, retailing at around $30, my hope was that I could finally steer people towards a good, affordable strap-on option as an alternative to the pricey Joque.

I’m glad to say that I wasn’t at all disappointed, and I can happily recommend these as a harness option that performs well while remaining super budget friendly! Also, they’re comfortable enough that you can just lay around wearing them, which is a huge plus for me.

First Impressions of the Blush Novelties Temptasia Harness Briefs:

After this pair of harness briefs arrived, I promptly took off my jeans and pulled them on over my regular underwear, as this is my preferred way to wear any kind of harness. I then proceeded to do some general tasks, including taking photos of another item for a future blog post, sprawling out on my couch and eating a cookie, and absentmindedly scrolling Twitter. The Temptasia Harness Briefs were extremely fucking comfy, felt natural to wear, and stretched and moved easily with no unpleasant rubbing, chafing, etc. They easily pass my benchmark for being Comfy As Fuck.

I could do without the generic thin and sexy model on the packaging, and the general packaging motif still feels too feminine and not neutral enough for my taste. I also think the enormous honking red dildo the model is swinging around in the harness is a little much, and that criticism goes beyond personal taste—I think it’s a bit of a disservice to not be able to preview the O-ring on the harness as the main image on the product packaging.

I realize that this item is probably sold in brick and mortar stores and is primarily targeting heterosexual couples…as usual…and while I still long for more basic, generic, no-nonsense packaging, Blush Novelties is a huge brand that ultimately gets way more money from The Straights(TM) than from me, so. I dealt with this by simply tossing the box aside and pretending it didn’t exist—it’s a flimsy box anyway, so I didn’t have any motivation to keep it for storage reasons or anything.

Sizing, Care and Materials:

The Temptasia Harness Briefs are 95% cotton and 5% spandex, all black, and machine washable. They’re available in a wide range of sizes, which is always a good thing to see. Due to the popularity of the initial S-XL release, the harness was made available in sizes 2XL-5XL as well. On one end of the spectrum, size S has a waistband of 28” and a thigh opening of 17”, and on the other end, size 5XL has a waistband of 43” and a thigh opening of 30”. I got size M (medium), with a waistband of 30” and a thigh opening of 18”.

The listing on Betty’s Toy Box recommended selecting a size based on standard women’s clothing sizes like those from The Gap, Old Navy, etc. I usually buy size medium in underwear and pajama pants, so I figured a medium would be the best bet. I considered getting a large, since the waistband was going to sit on my (wider) hips as opposed to my actual waist, but I went for a medium because I knew a large would be too big on my partner.

Two Butts, One Pair of Briefs: Can We Share?

Because the SpareParts Joque is adjustable between a wide range of sizes, my partner and I have no problem switching the harness off between the two of us and making minor fit adjustments. Brief style harnesses, meanwhile, are only “adjustable” in the sense that their material can be trusted to stretch. My partner and I are relatively similar in size—I’m about 2 inches shorter and 10 pounds heavier—but our builds are quite different from each other, with me having a way bigger ass.

I’ve passed a lot of “too small” clothes for me on to my partner, but would the Temptasia Harness Briefs work as something we could both comfortably wear?

Fortunately, the answer was yes! We both found the harness super comfy and easy to wear, and agreed that it felt just like wearing a regular pair of underpants. The medium turned out to be a perfect fit on me, and also fit very well on my partner. Thank god for stretchy pants!

Blush Novelties Temptasia Harness Briefs Performance:

I was already accustomed to how comfortable the Temptasia Harness Briefs were in a general setting, but when testing them out during actual strap on sex, I ditched my regular underwear and just wore the harness briefs by themselves. Getting them on required just a quick shimmy, and my dildo of choice (the Vixen Mustang) easily slipped through the stretchy 1.5” silicone O-ring.

The harness features two inner pockets designed to hold bullet vibrators to provide the wearer of the harness with extra stimulation during sex. The bullet pockets seemed to be a little small at first glance, but they ultimately were able to comfortably fit both the Tango X and Tango. I initially liked that one of the internal pockets is vertical as opposed to how both of the Joque bullet pockets are horizontal—however, I found out later that this positioning was uncomfortable to a point that bordered on painful. This wasn’t a huge problem, though, given that I don’t usually make use of bullet pockets during sex.

During sex, I didn’t even think about the harness while wearing it. Fucking my partner while wearing this harness felt effortless and natural, and at no point was the waistband uncomfortable. The leg openings also remained comfy, and didn’t chafe the skin between my groin and my thighs (a common complaint I have with regular brief style underwear).

The crack of the harness briefs rode up my ass a little, I will admit, but this is a minor inconvenience that regular underwear often plagues me with as well. Against my bare skin, the fabric of the Temptasia Harness Briefs is super soft and comfortable. While the cut of them was a somewhat more feminine briefs style compared to the boxer briefs I usually wear, I didn’t feel any gender dysphoria while wearing them. The fabric solidly covered my butt throughout sex, and the simple black color and the no-nonsense cut made the harness feel sturdy and practical—not overtly feminine or needlessly sexy.

Based on the positioning of the O-ring, I did notice that the base of the dildo sits a little lower on my crotch compared to the SpareParts Joque. This wasn’t a problem or a negative, rather, it’s just something worth pointing out. If you really want a harness that positions the dildo higher on your pubic mound, though, the SpareParts Joque may be a better option for you.

Final Thoughts on the Blush Novelties Temptasia Harness Briefs:

I was really, really happy with the Blush Novelties Temptasia Harness Briefs! I’m so glad that there’s an affordable strap-on option out there that’s comfortable and performs well during strap on sex. When I was younger, I suffered through tacky, uncomfortable, and flimsy strap-on harnesses that made me miserable and convinced me I hated strap-on sex. I would have loved to have access to these harness briefs when I was getting started in my sexual career. At around $30, they’re a great option for anyone who’s just getting started experimenting with strap-on sex. Or, really, they’re a great option for anyone who just wants a good machine washable brief-style harness.

Between my two strap-on harnesses—the SpareParts Joque and now the Temptasia Harness Briefs—I can honestly see myself using them equally. If one happens to be in the wash (as both are machine washable!), I now have a solid backup option that performs well and doesn’t give me any grief when wearing it. The Temptasia Harness Briefs are also so easy to get on, I might reach for them first anyway whenever I’m feeling particularly lazy. For those more adventurous than me, these would also be easy to wear out and about as regular underwear under regular clothing.

I really don’t have anything bad to say about this harness. It’s a great affordable option, and I’m so glad Betty’s Toy Box gave me the opportunity to review it!

You can purchase it in sizes S-XL here, and you can purchase it in sizes 2XL-5XL here.
